8 Days 7 Nights
Nairobi → Masai Mara → Nairobi
45-Minute Bush Flight
Safari & Wildlife
Eight days to experience the two Kenyas that travellers dream of. You begin in Nairobi — the only capital on earth with a national park at its doorstep — where a sunrise game drive, the Sheldrick elephant orphanage and the Giraffe Centre fill your first mornings. Then a 45-minute bush flight from Wilson Airport drops you straight onto the plains of the Masai Mara for three full nights: full-day game drives along the Mara River, sunrise with the predators of Rhino Ridge, a Maasai manyatta and its adumu dance, and sundowners on the ridge with your photographer. The return is by road, through the Mai Mahiu escarpment and the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Your last two days bring you back to Nairobi for the Karen Blixen Museum, the National Museum of Kenya, the dancers of Bomas of Kenya and the Maasai Market. One base city, one destination, two hotels — and not a single wasted transfer.
Your Africa Tour Travel representative greets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, assists with immigration formalities and accompanies you on a private, air-conditioned transfer to your hotel (about 20 km). After check-in we hold a friendly welcome meeting: a full day-by-day walkthrough of your programme, how each excursion works (pick-up times, dress, what to bring), plus practical advice and local etiquette (tipping, greetings, photography). We set up your Safaricom SIM card with data and add you to our WhatsApp group for real-time support.
WELCOME DINNER

An early start for a sunrise game drive in Nairobi National Park (departure 6:00 from the Langata gate) — the only national park in the world bordering a capital city, where rhinos, giraffes and lions graze against the skyline. At 11:00 we visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust nursery for the orphaned elephants' feeding hour, then the Giraffe Centre in Langata, where you hand-feed endangered Rothschild's giraffes from a raised platform.
BREAKFAST | LUNCH

Transfer to Wilson Airport for your 45-minute bush flight to the Ol Kiombo airstrip, deep inside the Masai Mara — a transfer that would take six hours by road. Lunch and check-in at your tented camp, then your first afternoon game drive through the Talek sector (16:00–18:30).
BREAKFAST | LUNCH | DINNER

A full-day game drive with a bush picnic along the Mara River and Paradise Plain, at the wildebeest crossing points of the Great Migration. Late afternoon, sundowners on a ridge overlooking the plains — the golden hour your photographer has been waiting for.
BREAKFAST | LUNCH | DINNER

A dawn game drive dedicated to the predators of Rhino Ridge and the Musiara marshes — lion, cheetah and leopard are all resident here. Late morning, a visit to a Maasai manyatta: the adumu jumping dance, fire-making and the community school, arranged directly with the village. A final afternoon game drive in the Olare Orok sector.
BREAKFAST | LUNCH | DINNER

One last morning game drive, then the scenic road back to Nairobi over the Mai Mahiu escarpment, with a photo stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint (about 6 hours). Late afternoon at the Karen Blixen Museum, the farmhouse of the author of Out of Africa, and at the Kazuri Beads workshop, a social enterprise employing single mothers.
BREAKFAST | LUNCH

Morning at the Nairobi National Museum and its Snake Park, then Bomas of Kenya for the 15:30 traditional dance performance — Maasai, Kalenjin and Mijikenda troupes in a single show. The day ends at the Maasai Market for crafts, with your guides on hand to help you negotiate. In the evening, a farewell dinner and a screening of your photo report.
BREAKFAST | DINNER

A final Kenyan breakfast, then a private transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home, with photos and a personal album to treasure.
